Edward Stredney

Experience

Ed at workI've been elected to three terms on Niles City Council and I've learned what it takes to get things done. In January of 2008, I was elected chairman of the Safety Committee for Niles Council by my fellow council members. In this position, I've stood up and tackled tough, publicly controversial issues head on. My experience on city council has taught me how to fight for the residents that I represent.

I was first elected in 2005, I won re-election in 2007 and 2009, and I really appreciate your help and support to get me in the May 4, 2010 primary for the 65th District.

I would like to thank all my supporters and organizations that have supported me and my family both in the past and the current election.

While in office I have supported many items of interest, here are just a few:

I have been previously endorsed as a councilman by:
Niles Mens Democrat Club
United Auto Workers CAP Council
Mahoning Trumbull AFL-CIO Labor Council

The Tribune Chronicle had this to say about Ed on Friday, April 24, 2009:
Niles 3rd Ward: Retain Councilman Edward Stredney, who faces a challenger. Young by political standards (the 27 year old-incumbent graduated from Youngstown State University last year), Stredney is already winding down his second term. He is part of the team that has kept the city in better financial shape, while providing what appears to be some of the best services of any community in Trumbull County. Taxes and utilities are low while the city constructed a large community center for its residents and continues providing adequate safety, road maintenance and parks. Within his 3rd Ward, Stredney continues working on blighted properties, a challening task in all communities right now.

WYTV, WKBN and WFMJ all ran stories about the primaries: "When Stredney filed to become a candidate, he said he has one thing the other candidates don't. 'Experience,' he said. 'I served a couple of terms on Niles council. I have dealt with big budgets.'" Read at WKBN or WYTV, or watch a video on WFMJ.
